Thinking of letting your child travel alone? It's almost unheard of, but it does happen. This article discusses the age and pregnancy limits for ocean and river travel, as well as some information on air travel.
I apologize for the layout. I attempted to format this as a chart, but had no success.
Air Travel
Most airlines allow a child under the age of 18 to fly alone, and the rules and restrictions for what they call unaccompanied children are different for each airline. Airlines are free to enforce any rules they want, and no two airlines will have exactly the same polices.
Airlines treat children traveling alone differently depending on the age of the child. Most airlines have a minimum age for their unaccompanied child service, typically five, and a maximum age, typically 12.
Children younger than the minimum age will have to travel with an adult. If your child is appearing to be beyond the age limit set by the airline, you or your child may be asked to provide some kind of proof of the child's age, so be prepared to have appropriate documentation to the airport.
If a child is older than an airline's maximum age for their unaccompanied child program, that airline may allow that child to travel under their program's rules, but that child may not be able to use special services for unaccompanied children such as having an escort while at an airport or being allowed to board the aircraft early.
Pregnancy Restrictions - For women in their 7th month of pregnancy, some air carriers may require a doctor's note dated within one week of travel, attesting that she and the baby are okay to travel. In addition, some airlines may require a pregnant woman to sign a statement confirming that she's in good health and does not anticipate any challenges.
Criteria: Follow the criteria by referring to the corresponding numbers for each cruise line.
1 = Minimum Age to Travel Without a Parent or Guardian
2 = Parent or Guardian Must Share the Same Stateroom as the Minor
3 = Minimum Age Policy Waived for Under-Aged Married Couples (with proof of marriage)

5 = If Traveling with a Minor
6 = Traveling when Pregnant

Considerations. American Queen Steamboat Co. (“AQSC”) has EMTs on board,
not doctors. It would be the passenger’s requirement to let them now at
the time of booking that she is pregnant. You are required to
advise AQSC in writing, at or prior to the time a cruise is booked, of any
physical, emotional or mental condition which may require attention during the
cruise, or if you are physically challenged and require the use of a wheelchair
or other similar equipment. A certificate of fitness is required of all such
Guests. Please call our principal offices to request the Policy Statement:
Guests with Special Needs / Fitness for Travel Letter. Electric scooters or
electric wheelchairs may be used on board, subject to certain size and safety
limitations. AQSC strongly recommend that if you are using any make or model of
wheelchair that you travel with someone who is able to assist you, both on
shore and on board the Ship. Some ports of call have limited shore side
facilities and physical conditions may preclude you from going ashore.
Decisions made by the Master of the Ship in such circumstances will be binding
in all instances. If you are a Guest with Special Needs, you must bring and be
responsible for all necessary items related to your condition. If any such
condition arises after the cruise is booked, you are required to advise AQSC in
writing immediately. Any Guest who requires oxygen canisters or oxygen
concentrators must independently make all the necessary arrangements, including
procuring and moving any oxygen containers while on board. Please be advised that
liquid oxygen is not permitted onboard the Ship. Failure to so advise AQSC
shall release them and all professional personnel aboard the Ship from any
liability related to such condition or its treatment. Failure to disclose
physical, mental, or emotional conditions prior to the departure date, or to
obtain a certificate of fitness as described above, or your attempt to bring on
the Ship equipment not permitted on board may result in denial of embarkation
and forfeiture of the applicable Cruise Fare or Cruise Tour Fare and in such
event they shall have no liability financially or otherwise.
